Well, I’m not sure if you celebrate Christmas or not. If you don’t, then I hope you have a Happy Holiday.

However, I celebrate Christmas in all it stands for. That is the birth of Christ. Now, if you are “offended” by me mentioning that, oh well. These days of political correctness have run amuk with all of the “oh I can’t say that because I might offend someone” crap.

(Steps up on soapbox about this post, I’m gonna rant here)

Now I consider myself an open minded guy and I have no ill feelings towards anyone of any race or religion. I feel that to each their own. However, when my rights are infringed upon because I might “offend” someone by something I say, then that bothers me. I remember the days of when you could call a duck a duck and not get sued by the ACLU.

The other day, I was shopping and was told “Happy Holidays” by the lady behind the sales counter. Now, I’m sure that the store has a policy that you have to say that. I told her “Merry Christmas” and you would have thought that I shot her! What happened to people just accepting what is told to them with an open mind of each others rights? Do I not have the right to wish someone a Merry Christmas anymore?

So, if you are offended by me wishing you a Merry Christmas, just remember that maybe I am offended by the political correctness of Happy Holidays.

What ever your reason to celebrate the season, I hope you have a wonderful time, and a Happy New Year! Thank you for being my reader, viewer and supporter!
