If you are redoing or redesigning a space, you may want to learn more about green interior design. The “green” meaning environmentally friendly. Green interior design isn’t just about using things that are recycled or environmentally friendly to decorate your space with, but is also about making your space more efficient and better for the environment. There are many different products and ways to achieve this while designing your space, and you will find it is going to be surprisingly easy. Not only is going to be easy, but with the market continuing to grow, the prices are becoming more and more reasonable.

There are structural things that you can do to your room to make it more green. These things would include replacing old windows, inserting ceiling fans, and blowing more insulation into your walls or attic spaces. When your windows are old or have leaks you are losing air both out and in. This means that your appliances are working harder to keep your room at a set temperature. By fixing this you are using less electricity. Using a ceiling fan can help circulate are and eliminate the need to turn the air conditioner on. Sometimes the draft of a fan is all you need. If your house was not insulated properly than you are probably paying through the roof to heat or cool your home. Blowing insulation is easy and not expensive, especially compared to what you will save on your energy bills.

Designing your house with energy efficient appliances is not only going to save the planet, but is also going to benefit your wallet. Energy efficient appliances use less energy to do their job. You can get kitchen appliances, toilets, shower heads, washers and dryers, and numerous other things. They may cost a little more to purchase, but within the first year they normally pay for themselves with the money saved on utility bills. There are also many tax breaks that are offered to people who are purchasing these energy efficient appliances. Your old appliances could be costing you a ton.

When decorating your home with green products you don’t have to sacrifice style. Green products are everywhere. You can find organic products at most home improvement stores and also local superstores. You can get furniture, flooring, and all the decor that you want. Things like organic thermal curtains are a great option. They are made of all natural fabrics and they are insulated to keep your room at the cold or warm temperature you desire. Almost anything you think of other than electronics you can normally get in an organic brand. You can also make what you want by recycling things an using things from the environment.

If you are choosing to redesign your home with the green theme, make sure that you properly recycle all of your old things. Many things can be taken to thrift stores or second hand shops, or be donated to people who may need them. If they aren’t salvageable then take them to your local recycling center to make sure that they don’t end up in landfill or damaging the planet somewhere. By getting rid of your old things properly you are not only going green with your new stuff but also with your old stuff!

If you are having a hard time or need some help, there are plenty of resources available to assist you. Try your local furniture, home improvement, and specialty stores. You may also want to talk to your financial planner or tax accountant about the different benefits you can get for incorporating these many different things. Everyone needs to start doing there part to protect our planet’s resources. Go green and encourage others to do the same today.

Site Updates and Changes

One of the tough aspects that each blogger has to face at some point is what direction do you take your site?

Since I started this blog in 2007, the original intent was to use it for my web design business and write about design topics, accessible blogging and search engine optimization techniques. However, since that time I have started several other blogs and sites that deal with those topics. My main site deals with Niche Marketing and Blogging for Beginners, so if you are interested, head on over and check it out. Be sure to subscribe to the RSS feed for it as well to keep up to date!

I have decided to not focus so much on any one particular topic with this site so I am going to make this site more of a general “What interests me” type of blog. I also will continue to experiment with some things on this site, so if you see something strange come across it, like my post about Who did the Bachelorette Pick, you will know what and why. I got over 1,000 hits from that post within 2 days, so sometimes you can pick a good and hot topic!

So, I hope that you will stick around, if not I can understand. This is one of the tough decisions that I have made as this site is a personally branded site. Not that I would sell it anyways, but who would want a site with my name? Unless there is another ejcross out there someplace.

BANS Niche Store Content Writer

If you are like me and have been using Build A Niche Store (BANS) to create eBay affiliate stores, you know one of the toughest and time consuming parts is creating the content to go on each page. Especially if your site has more than just two or three store pages! I had tried a couple of content rewriters and tried using some PLR articles and rewriting them by hand, myself, but they just didn’t work and still took a long time to complete.

I have found a product that is a content writer and it is perfect for BANS users. I want to share some of the features of this easy to use software with you.

The software is called the Niche Store Writer. You probably haven’t heard of it. It’s a new program that is almost ready for launch next week to everyone. I just happen to have reviewed this and I can tell you that I feel that it will blow any content writer software away! Why?

Most content writer software has problems sounding like it’s from a real human. Niche Store Writer doesn’t. It allows you to create keyword focused content that is unique content for the search engines. The content created reads naturally and it is easy to format.

You’re probably thinking “Yeah right! I’ve tried them all before! And they all SUCK!”. So, what makes Niche Store Writer different from all the rest?

It was created by an avid BANS user. Since it was created by a BANS user, he knows that most of the BANS users aren’t proficient in php or complex coding. Some of the content rewriters can get pretty confusing! So, if you can operate Word or another word processor program, you can use this.

Take a look at some of the screenshots of this program!

The simple template page will allow you to create your own template, copy one in or even load from a file. You can then “edit” the words to allow placement of your particular keywords.

Here is where you input your keywords to create your unique articles. Can you see the potential already? Just plug in a few keywords, run it and you have endless content for a ton of sites!

The preview page allows you to see your produced content. I really love the Keyword Density feature to help you avoid setting off the Google Spam filters. Nice thinking!

The HTML editor will allow you to create the bold or emphasized keywords and heading tags also. Really nice and simple to use.

The full preview page is a neat feature that will show you what the content will look like on your site. Now all you do is save it and plug it in!

So, what do you think? I was really impressed with how simple it is, the layout, and how easy it will be to create a simple basic template that I can use on all of my BANS sites.

The sad part is that it isn’t ready to be released, yet. The official product launch will be next week. You Tube Down Again

Ok, so it seems that YouTube is down again! I was searching around for some new videos for some issues that I was researching, and guess what, I can’t get there!

I’m not sure what is going on with You Tube, or why You Tube is down again, other than I know there have been a lot of severe storms in the Midwest in the last couple of days. I’m guessing something has been damaged from those storms and it has taken down You Tube.

Or, maybe someone was just asking “Hey, what’s this button do?”.

The bad part about You Tube being down is the fact that if you use You Tube videos on your site, especially the embedded YOu Tube videos, they are not showing now either.

How do I know this? My recent post on Asia’h Epperson used several videos from You Tube and they aren’t showing up now.

Only time will tell what is going on and we’ll see what happens!
